Here’s a fun campaign we’ve just developed for flybuys – a campaign to recruit more members for Australia’s biggest loyalty program.

Appearing in every Coles supermarket, press, online and social,the key to campaign’s success is what we started to refer to as “The Two Fs” – FOMO and fun.

Our spooky Halloween at Coles.

We take Halloween very seriously at Whippet. It’s one of our favourite times of the year.

For the past few years, Coles have asked us to establish a Halloween presence in their supermarkets.

This year we were asked to go even further with an in-store display and all the packaging for Coles’ halloween treats like lollies and spooky disguises.

How we helped Coles enter the mobile phone market.

Coles Mobile called us when they decided to get into the crowded Australian mobile phone market.

Our creative and strategic brief was to develop a brand from scratch for their brand new prepaid mobile phone and SIM range.

We decided ‘loud’, ‘confident’ and ‘happy’ would work best in appealing to the whole family of prepaid customers – especially with a product as competitive (one of the best in market) as what Coles were offering. The line, “Talk it up!” was based on the insight from research that in plans like these, talking was still more important to customers than data.

We’ve moved into our new kennel.

So we’ve finally made the big move to the Melbourne CBD.

It was a gruelling task, months and months in the planning. But it’s been worth the hard work. Lots more room, meeting and breakout space, and lovely views of the old Forum theatre have made it all worthwhile.

We’re just over the road from Fed Square, down one of Melbourne’s hip alleyways, six floors above one of the city’s cool cafes, Bowery and Williamsburg.

Designed fresh for Coles

If you’ve been inside a Coles store anywhere in Australia lately, you’ll have noticed our new ‘Coles Fresh’ campaign. Coles has done a huge amount of good work to make their produce better than ever and wanted to celebrate it with everyone. We were asked to bring the message to life.

We took inspiration from the great markets of the world as we love the authentic way market stallholders communicate, from the handwritten prices to the eclectic typography and messages of provenance. These textures, colours and styles help make the market an exciting place to shop.

This became the inspiration for ‘Newmarket’, a look and feel developed to bring the Coles fresh message to life across all of Coles’ fresh departments.

Together with the ‘Coles fresh’ lockup we have a flexible design solution that can deliver all of our messaging consistently and be scaleable enough to rollout to the hundreds of Coles stores across the country.

The campaign has only been in market for a short time but Coles have already seen some positive results in sales as well as customer feedback. It’s early days but were hoping this stays around for years to come.
